Turriff United completed the signing of Paul Munro from soon to be HFL neighbours Deveronvale. Paul had previously had a successful loan spell with Turriff United before eventually making the move permanent. Paul will be a great addition to the squad as Turriff prepare for life in the HFL.
Turriff United made history on the 25/2/09 by being 1 of 3 successful applicants for the Highland Football League.
The other successful applicants were Formartine United and Strathspey Thistle. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the evening was the unsuccessful applications of recent North Super League champions and current ADFA members, Banks O’Dee.
In what was I’m sure a nail biting evening for everyone involved at Turriff United, they obtained more than enough votes to be playing HFL next season. The votes were as follows:
Get ready for the new season - win a load of balls for your team!
Footballs, footballs, footballs! We've teamed up with Umbro to bring you the perfect boost for pre-season training - 10 Club Website footballs for your team!
What would you do to improve the next generation of British footballers?
Youth development has been at the top of the grassroots football agenda lately, so what would you do to help improve the next generation of British talent? Have your say!
